David Jackson i Kaprekar´s Constant berättar för mig om låten "Deception".

Jag har varit i kontakt med David Jackson, som spelar saxofon och flöjt i Kaprekar´s Constant.

Jackson är tidigare känd, som legendarisk saxofonist i det progressiva bandet Van der Graaf Generator.

Kaprekar´s Constant finns med i delfinal 3 på startplats 20, den sista, med låten "Deception".

The song Deception his about 'DECEPTION ISLAND’ - my favourite subject at that time of working with Kap[rekar’s Constant.

Totally captivated by the story and the tune and lyrics, I did a lot of research. I remembered I had a CD of Whales singinging. Humpback whales were slaughtered there on Deception, along with infinite other creatures! The song of the humpback in in D - the actual key of the song.

In my original presentation I did a lot of playing with the humpbacks. I used a male and female who were calling to each other, I think in states of distress; but we’ll never know. In the final mix of the song, most of the whales singing got edited out - never-mind eh!

When I have some more time, I’ll send you some of my Deception improvisations with those humpbacks!
