1. Guided by Voices (US) Styles We Paid For is their third of 2020 no less. Oh, you thought a global pandemic was going to slow them down did you? No sir, no indeed. Guided By Voices‘ unstoppable creativity finds a way. Their first to be made since lockdown hit this new one was recorded by the band’s members in five different states. Not that you’d know it, it gels together perfectly. Always a band to find room for the ragged lo-fi scraps and half sketched ideas of their process you might have ex Echoesanddustected a little more of that stuff to show up here but, if anything, there’s less.

Holy Monitor (US) Blistering Athens-based experimental psych/kraut rock collective ‘Holy Monitor’ wowed us back in early 2017 with their debut self-titled full length release absolutely filled to the brim with luscious soundscapes that pull together different disciplines to create an otherworldly sonic vibe charged with glistening hypnotics that are all collectively drenched in a woozy kind of psychedelic abandonment. 5. Jane Weaver (UK) (born 1972 in Liverpool) is an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She runs the record label Bird. Weaver has performed as part of the Britpop group Kill Laura, the folktronica project Misty Dixon, and as a solo artist. Jane Weaver has shared a new single called 'Heartlow'. "'Heartlow' is my attempt at an uplifting tragi-pop parade for the trials of modern times disguised as a homage to a lost generation of misfit girl group records," Weaver says, adding that it was "written in hibernation in an out of season French coastal town surrounded by ancient stone circles and arthurian forests." 6. XIXA (US) Formed in the heart of the deep American Southwest, XIXA are a guitar-slinging six-piece, uniquely attuned to the desert and their Latin roots. Combining gritty guitars, the bumping grind of chicha, and desert blues into a mesmerizing stew. 7. Jane Birkin (Fr) Oh! Pardon tu dormais… translates to “Oh! Sorry you were sleeping…” in English. The album will mark the first time Birkin has ever used music to address the 2013 death of her daughter, photographer Kate Barry, according to a press release. “Étienne helped me release a past pain, which saved me from melancholy and inertia,” Birkin said in a press release. 

8.  Django Django (UK) the 1960s pastiche of "Right the Wrongs", a tight-fisted, bouncing rock song that finds its sound in the British Invasion, surf rock, and 1970s punk. It begins with churchy synths that are disrupted with gunshots of drums and guitars before the song kicks off on a pogoing jaunt.
