                                    The Chills från Nya Zeeland är fortfarande still going strong

Tio nya låtar. Några gamla poplistefavoriter som The Chills och The Besnard Lakes. Ettöverraskande band är 70-talsgänget Crack The Sky, som jag trodde försvann för länge sen.

1 Arlo Parks (UK/Nig) is the kind of artist who almost could have been created in a test tube for a certain type of music fan. A 20-year-old singer-songwriter raised in London to Nigerian/Chadian-French parents (her real name is Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho). Songs with personal yet universal lyrics culled from journals, steeped in R&B and alt-rock but anchored in singer-songwriter tradition. Variety

2 James Yorkston (UK) is a Scottish folk musician, singer-songwriter and author from the village of Kingsbarns, Fife.^[2] He has been releasing music since 2001. As well as recording as a solo artist, he has released music with his backing band the Athletes, as part of the Fence Collective, and as a member of the trio Yorkston/Thorne/Khan. He has also written fiction and non-fiction books.The track is of their forthcoming release The Wide, Wide River . The Wide, Wide River is James’ tenth album. Northerntransmissions

3 Sunbirds (US) The Beautiful South founder member Dave Hemingway has a new band Sunbirds and this is their debut album Cool To Be Kind on the independent label Nectar Records. Having retired from the live scene at the back end of 2016, Dave has been keeping busy with guitarist, songwriter and collaborator Phil Barton, with Cool To Be Kind signalling the arrival of the new band, new songs and a new sound. Rough Trade 

4 Crack the sky (UK) is an American progressive rock band formed in Weirton, West Virginia, in the early 1970s. 6 Linn Emmery-Koch (SWE) Ända sedan den 25-årige Linn Koch-Emmery gick in i rampljuset 2016 med sin singel "Come Back" har hon visat sig vara en kraft värd att räkna med. Hon har utvecklat ett högtalarsprängande ljudbild fylld av förgörelsekraft. För två år sen slog Linn Koch-Emmery igenom på både hemmaplan och internationellt med hyllade indie-EP:n ”Waves”. 7 Liquify (US) Inspired by bands such as Pink Floyd, Santana, Sleep, The Re-Stoned, and Earthless, Liquify is a one-man project from the United States that strives to bring balance to the Rock. 8 Shitkid (SWE) är en svensk musikduo bestående av Åsa Söderqvist och Lina Molarin Ericsson. Ursprungligen från Kramfors men numera baserad i Stockholm. EP-skivan "This Is It [EP]" kom ut i januari 2018 och samma år vann Shitkid Manifestpriset för "Årets Rock". Wiki

9 The Chills (NZ) are a New Zealand rock band formed in Dunedin in 1980. The band is essentially the continuing project of singer/songwriter Martin Phillipps, who is the group's sole constant member. For a time in the 1990s, the act was billed as Martin Phillipps & The Chills. Last month, the Chills released a single called “You’re Immortal,” and that’s on the album. So is “Monolith,” the new song that the band has shared today.Stereogum
