Hi Ingemar,

Great to hear from you. We’re so glad that you enjoyed our performance at the Troubadour and like our sound.

That’s so nice to hear that you’ve got a good response so far from marketing our band on various music groups.

Here are our answers to your interview questions...

All the best
Gabrielle

Fire In Her Eyes

1. I guess you have been interested in music since you were young kids. Can you tell me a bit more about how you got into music. Did you, Natasha and Daniella sing and play much together very early in life? And did you know Gabrielle since you were kids as well?

Yes, we’ve all been into music pretty much our whole lives. For Daniella and Natasha, the musical gene runs in their family as their dad, grandpa and uncle are all musicians; their dad introduced them to the keyboard and guitar at a young age. For Gabrielle, she was exposed to classical music by her dad from a young age which encouraged her to write songs and pick up the keyboard.

2. What does your band name Fire In Her Eyes symbolize and for how long have you been together under this band name?

The name ‘Fire In Her Eyes’ symbolises deeper knowledge and opening your consciousness. We’ve been together under this band name since January 2016.

3. What musical education have you got until now?

Daniella and Gabrielle recently graduated with a BA Cons undergraduate degree in Songwriting; Natasha is in her second year of a BA Hons undergraduate degree in Creative Musicianship.

4. You are playing covers of Crosby, Stills & Nash and Neil Young (“Ohio” at The Troubadour). I guess your parents have had a great influence on your music tastes?

Funnily enough, we found Crosby, Stills & Nash ourselves as we’ve naturally all been into the sound of the late 60s, however our parents have had a great influence on our music tastes by exposing us to jazz, classical music, Northern soul and disco.

5. I notice a lot of influences from the 60s and 70s. Can you name some bands/artists from that period?

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Jefferson AirplaneJimi HendrixThe BeatlesThe DoorsJethro TullDavid BowieStevie WonderFleetwood MacPink FloydThe Beach BoysSmall FacesThe West Coast Pop Art Experimental BandGentle Giant; Emerson, Lake & Palmer; Heatwave; Nick DrakeSly and the Family StoneThe Moody Blues; Renaissance; T. Rex.

6. What are your favourite artists and songs that you listen to right now?

In terms of current bands/artists, we’re listening to Tame ImpalaUnknown Mortal OrchestraHiatus KaiyoteThundercat, Electric Octopus, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, and Boards of Canada.

7. All of you are very skilled as musicians and you play “difficult” chords on the guitar. My friend Claes who also attended your concert, is a semi-professional musician on keyboards, guitar and bass, was for example very impressed by how Gabrielle played the bass.

Thank you very much! We really appreciate that.

8. Most of the songs are your own. Who make(s) the music and the lyrics?

It depends on each song. Some are written by all three of us and some are just written by two of us.

9. Have you played at similar venues as The Troubadour recently? You performed in a very experienced way.

Yes, we’ve played at quite a lot of music venues at a similar level to the Troubadour such as 229, the O2 Islington, 93 Feet East, the Victoria and the Monarch.

10. Do you have “ordinary” jobs now or are some of you studying?

As mentioned earlier, Natasha is in her second year studying for a degree in Creative Musicianship; Daniella is a piano tutor, and Gabrielle is an extra in TV shows and films.

11. There are some YouTube videos for marketing your band. Do you shoot your videos or do you get any help from outside sources?

We film and edit our own videos (with the help of our friends) but we are definitely open to working with external filmmakers. We recently had a couple of photoshoots with a professional photographer to get some new press shots and we loved the results.

12. I really hope Fire In Her Eyes will be a band that will be adored by music lovers all over the world. What are your plans for the (near and long) future?

Thanks a lot; it’s so nice to hear comments like that :) In the near future, we plan to release two singles (along with music videos) as well as record an EP of about four or five songs, and carry on gigging around London. In the mid-distant future, we plan to perform at a lot more music festivals (in the UK and abroad) and hopefully support a band/artist on tour, as well as release an album.
