The Long Ryders gör comeback efter 15 år

Här kommer tio nya låtar. Varsågod  :)

1 Sleaford Mods (UK) Following the release of 'Subtraction' last week, Sleaford Mods have put out a video for another track from forthcoming album Eton Alive.Titled 'Kebab Spider', the track appears to hit out at insincerity - narratives that are followed as an easy route to be popular without getting to the point and tackling anything with any real meaning. The line: "You're just saying it all to look good" is repeated three times after words taking aim at mainstream television ("some documentaries on Channel 4 are only in it for the fame") and the music industry ("You've had a record deal for nearly thirty years / What do you know about agencies / Look for jobs, shit wages") are belted. 2 Guided by Voices (US) Fresh off a summer tour in support of their latest album, Space GunRobert Pollard’s prolific Guided By Voices have announced a massive new double-album called Zeppelin Over China. The band’s second double-album after last year’s August By Cake (which also happened to be their 100th LP overall). COS

3 Jessica Prattt (US) Lead single “This Time Around” is pastoral folk and its lyrics read like something out of a Romantic-era poem: “This time around has it gone so grey that my faith can’t hold out?/ Haven’t you heard there’s a somber wind gets my head away now/ Hallowed be thy name, had you come to claim it?/ All upon her face were the lost and strange years.” Her new album Quiet Signs gives the impression that those lost and strange years are somewhere in the rearview. Pratt’s confidence is palpable on this album, and in some ways it might read as a long goodbye to a different period in her life, one that was perhaps more unmoored, a little bit less certain. 4 Said The Whale (US) Juno Award-winning Vancouver-based indie rockers Said the Whale are back with their sixth studio album, Cascadia. As one of our most anticipated albums of 2019, Cascadia doesn't disappoint. Cascadia is a constant, winding road, with an unpredictable end in sight. Cascadia is, without a doubt, a complicated album. It's fun, serious and sexy all at the same time. The vocals, from Ben Worcester and Tyler Bancroft, show confidence, only to be heightened by the rest of the band's support. Exclaim.ca
5 Lost Cousins (CAN) We had the opportunity to get advance access to Toronto indie-rock group Lost Cousins new LP In Scenery. Seajets - We go a bit more psychedelic in sound here, with indie flavor of course. One constant that is great in this track throughout is the bass line, as it pins down the melody and helps ground the listener through everything else the track throws at them. It's a really well done piece of more abstract indie music.  Altrevue.com
6 Pale Lips (CAN) Montréal’s Pale Lips is made up of four badass ladies who can riff like Chuck Berry and play with enough attitude to stare down the Ramones. And to top things off, their songs come equipped with the kind of melodies and hooks that get lodged in your brain after just one listen. I mean, this rock ‘n roll meets punk thing has already been done a zillion times, going all the way back to the 70ies. But Pale Lips effortlessly make songs like ‘Some Sort Of Rock n' Roll’, single ‘You’re A Doll’ and ‘Doo-Wop Showaddywaddy’ sound fresh. That’s quality songwriting right there, spruced with big helpings of wooh’s and aah’s and even some sha la la’s. Pnkrocktheory.com
Cass McCombs (US) On his ninth album, the reserved bandleader incorporates more classic rock references than usual, but they’re the frames for subtleties and surprises within. Every so often, listeners will refer to McCombs as if he belongs to a simple category—the cagey-interview-giving, mystique-preserving singer enamored with his own enigma, a counterpart of Bradford Cox. But McCombs has never really devoted an excess of energy to his own legend or the way he’s perceived; he likes to talk about his ideas, not himself.  “The Great Pixley Train Robbery” is a story-song worthy of Dylan. 8 The Long Ryders (US) The founders of alt-country, The Long Ryders, release their first new album in over thirty years on February 15, 2019 when Psychedelic Country Soul hits the airwaves and enters the shops. Featuring the classic line-up of Sid Griffin, Stephen McCarthy, Tom Stevens and Greg Sowders, it makes the day after Valentine’s Day a musical romantic celebration. The stunning new album follows hot on the heels of the November 30 deluxe reissue treatment given to two classic Long Ryders long players, State Of Our Union and Two Fisted Tales. The Long Ryders.

9 The Woggles (US) For a band to not only last 30 years together but keep scaling more imposing heights, it’s going to need a sense of purpose. In the case of The Woggles, the seasoned garage rockers are greeting the milestone with a renewed rallying cry to move ever forward, a three-syllable statement of intent which also serves as the title of their new album on Wicked Cool Records, Tally Ho!   The Woggles Facebook

10 You Tell Me (UK) eter Brewis of Field Music and Sarah Hayes of Admiral Fallow met at a Kate Bush celebration show and began working together with the intention of him producing her. That their collaboration evolved into a band is cause for a little midwinter celebration. You Tell Me is a record of countless pleasures, one that manages to jump between different points without ever sounding jumpy for the sake of it. It’s delightfully eclectic rather than irritatingly restless. The Guardian

  3. 1. Sleaford Mods: 4.

    2. Guided by voices: 4. Söderbergs favoritband-namn låter numer Guided by Genesis and King Crimson.

    3. Jessica Pratt: 6. Svaret på frågan: Änglar, finns dom?

    4. Said the Whale: 3.

8: The Long Ryders: 2. Traveling Wilburys, men utan Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Roy Orbison och Jeff Lynne.

The Woggles: 2.

    10. You tell me: 4.
