Chat med segraren Nick Piunti

Nick Piunti var för mig ett helt obekant namn för bara några 
veckor sedan, men jag hittade honom under en recension på powerpopaholics site - http://www.powerpopaholic.com/2018/08/nick-piunti-and-holsapple.html 
Jag gillade vinnarlåten You Invented Hell väldigt mycket, så jag kontaktade Nick Piunti om jag kunde få lite mer info om den 
sången. Han hörde av sig nästan direkt och inledde med ett 
Awsome när han fick reda på att han toppade senaste Poplistan:

Awesome! The title came from an article I was
reading that stated “the Catholic Church Invented Hell”.
So I changed it to “You Invented Hell” and completed
the phrase with “and Heaven in the same night, whatever
you decide.” The guitar riff and music came together with
the lyric idea at the same time. That’s always the best scenario. I don’t usually write many songs in a minor key
but the title begged for it. I was thinking this song had a
Ryan Adams vibe but obviously a Tom Petty, Springsteen influence as well. My friend Ryan Allen helped with the
lyrics as I was stuck. The title seemed to tell the whole
story but he finished it for me. This song was probably
the easiest and quickest song to record when making
the “Temporary High” album.
