1. Jay-Jay Johanson  (SWE) is a Swedish singer-songwriter, known for his melancholic vocals. He was born 1969 in Trollhättan, Västra Götaland.His music has integrated the trip hop genre until he switched his sound to a more electroclash-oriented direction with his 2002 album Antenna. This is the single from the forthcoming album Bury The Hatchet.  Wikipedia

2. Lille Mae (US) Perhaps not surprisingly, the influence of White as producer pushes Mae into quirky waters that take this set, a year in the making due to scheduling complications, from bluegrass to country, rockabilly, and pop, without marginalizing or compromising any of those genres. There’s no doubting the resemblance of Mae’s high-pitched, salty/sweet vocals to Dolly Parton and Harris’ similar qualities and even to the music those two icons have played. Yet Mae’s youth and edgy sensibilities expand past most comparisons since she is just as likely to add electric guitar to these primarily acoustic tracks as bring a bluesy sensibility and even a modified prog riff.  American Songwriter

3. The Silver Reserve (UK) The Silver Reserve’s genesis can be traced all the way back to 2012 and the band’s emergence from what was the earthly remains of Rusty Bear, the Leeds-based trio. Lying at the very heart of The Silver Reserve is Matthew Sturgess, the band’s principal songwriter. He is joined here by his erstwhile Rusty Bear comrade-in-arms Zebedee Budworth, who alongside Xander Edwards and Benjamin Wall not only rotate instruments on this record – guitars, keyboards, glockenspiel, mandolin, hammer dulcimer, banjo, harmonica, bass and drums are all well within their collective musical reach.  Godisinthetvzine

4. Mammut (ICE)  is an Icelandic rock band based in Reykjavík. Formed in 2003 as ROK,  an all-female trio highlighting vocalist Kata (Katrína Kata Mogensen. The group expanded in early 2004 to a 5-piece band.  Their latest studio album is Kinder Versions. The song  “Walls“, we get to hear another powerful track. The raw guitars bringing the listener to a near-ecstatic state. Can this record get any better? Nobody knows.    Yourdeadpartner 

5. Sam Coffey & The Iron Lungs (CAN)  The Toronto six-piece is gearing up to release their new self-titled record. They are a power pop band from Toronto. Formed by Coffey, a former mechanic’s apprentice from Kitchener, Ontario, with it’s members collected from various Ontario small towns, they rapidly ingratiated themselves with Toronto’s punk scene. Dinealonerecords

6. The Fall (UK) Mark E. Smith’s meaty, swollen approach to garage rock may bristle fans of his early work, but the album’s little touches and turns makes this more than an average release for a legacy band. To paraphrase a song off 2008’s Imperial Wax Solvent album, Mark E Smith is a 60-year-old man and he likes it. New Facts Emerge could be said to be business as usual: ie. it cannot be quantified, and pulses with raw music, stimulating confusion and a certain monstrous glee. This time, harsh metal riffs, country picking and random-sounding sonic embellishments provide the backdrop for Smith, MOJO

7. The Midnight Ghost Train (US) is an American rock band from Topeka, Kansas.^[4] The band’s line-up consists of Steve Moss (guitar/vocals), Brandon Burghart (drums), and Alfred Jordan (bass). The trio has been categorized as hard rock, stoner rock, and heavy blues. Wikipedia. Det nya albumet heter Cypress Ave.

8. The Mountain Goats (US) are an American indie folk band formed in Claremont, California by singer-songwriter John Darnielle .“Rain in Soho”, the first and best song on their new record, Goths, is the unholy lovechild of “High Hawk Season” and “Lovecraft in Brooklyn”, with just a hint of Henry Higgins for seasoning. It’s still unique relative to Darnielle’s usual efforts, but it maintains his lyrical edge amid the theatricality and gothic aphorisms on display.

9. Hurray For The Riff Raff (US) In an ever-desensitized world, Hurray for the Riff Raff’s Alynda Lee Segarra is skilled at making violence human. “Pa’lante,” a ferocious highlight from her forthcoming record The Navigator, examines the spiritual death that occurs when ancestral histories and identities are abandoned in order to assimilate. The song’s title is a Spanish affirmation that means “onwards, forwards,” borrowed from the name of the newspaper published by the Young Lords, a Puerto Rican community activist group that agitated for change in the 1970s. Pitchfork

10. War On Drugs (US) “Thinking of a Place” marks a subtle, focused return from the War on Drugs. Stretching out across 11 minutes, it is less a reintroduction than a reimmersion into Adam Granduciel’s spectral Americana. Nearly every aspect of the song is tenuous, either disappearing or located just beyond our grasp. Granduciel sings, “Love is like a ghost in the distance out of reach.” He warns us, “There’s a darkness over there/But we ain’t going.” He laments a lover who “vanished in the night” while he gazes at the Missouri River. The music shifts between ambient passages of synth and fuzzed-out guitar solos, neither building in intensity nor losing momentum. Pitchfork
