2. Sallie Ford (US) On her latest LP, Sallie Ford distills her retro rock sound and introduces a confessional lyrical approach. Soul Sick lands somewhere between between a ’50s sock hop and last call in a rockabilly bar.  Pitchfork

3. VEYU (UK) Underbelly, Liverpool band VEYU’s upcoming six track record brings new force to the fore, showcasing the characteristic soundscapes and vocal harmonies they are known for, but punctured by cross rhythms of battling bass and charging drums. Los Angeles Police Department (US) “Grown” by Los Angeles Police Department from the self-titled album, Ryan Pollie’s warm pop project Los Angeles Police Department has officially announcing the album, which is also self-titled just like his 2014 debutthat led us to name him a Band To Watch. It was produced by Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Foo Fighters), and it’s more ambitious in scope without losing any of the soothing intimacy of his earlier work.  Stereogum

5. Thurston Moore (US) (Bilden ovan) Thurston Moore's new song "Cease Fire" is a six-minute, shape-shifting epic bursting with guitar bravado. As the song blossoms, "Cease Fire" becomes more krautrock-like in structure, providing a foundation for Moore to unfurl a series of mesmerizing solos. "Guns are designed to kill and we, as non-violent human beings, are against the killing of any person or animal," Moore said of "Cease Fire" in a statement. 6. Laura Marling (US) Hennes sjätte album. “Nothing, Not Nearly” suggests a spirited determination to impose that freedom on her future. A sort of garbled monotone talking-blues punctuated with dark smears of electric guitar, it finds her musing over another mislaid relationship, but with greater equanimity: “We’ve not got long, you know, to bask in the afterglow / Once it’s gone it’s gone, love waits for no one,” she sings, as the song dissolves away, a door opens and she’s off out, into the birdsong.   Independent

7. Tim Bowness (UK) Tim Bowness takes us with his new concept album ‘Lost in the Ghost Light’. The album follows an aging rock musician both on and backstage by the name of Moonshot, and the songs from his inner musings, thoughts and fears, and it’s a story worth following. The quiet and more somber closing song “Distant Summers” with its lush string arrangement; his vocals float quietly over the top of them and forms a very appropriate closing piece and works perfectly.  Metalwani

8. Scott H. Biram (US)  (Bid nedan) is a cipher; a Texas blues man who loves Motörhead, an outlaw country punk, a Hank III-meets-Jimmie Rodgers sinner with saintly intentions who straddles tradition and progress, and can play a mean guitar. His messy, raw records swirl together outlaw country, blues, Americana, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll, and his new record, The Bad Testament, is all over the place in the best kind of way.  Scottbiram.com

9. Power Trip (US) embody a platonic ideal of heavy metal escapism. With more focus on detail, the Dallas thrashers push their second LP over the edge, balancing modern intricacy and old-school aggression. You don’t need to be a metalhead to have a blast with Nightmare Logic. Screamed sardonics, persistent chug, and apocalyptic melodrama are all acquired tastes, sure. But Power Trip’s fist-pumping choruses, ricocheting grooves, and ample charm are so animated that they leave us with something addictive and, well, fun. Pitchfork
