Kort intervju med Grasscut

Förra omgångens segrare blev ju "Red Kite" med duon Grasscut från Brighton. En mycket fin låt, tyckte jag och flera med mig. Jag kontaktade en av de två medlemmarna, Andrew Phillips (bilden). Han är kompositör och cellist. Han spelar allt från folk, pop, klassiskt till indisk musik. Han har studerat hos Ravi Shankar mellan 1996 - 2011.

Grasscut: Hello Ingemar - thanks for your message. The song Red Kite came from watching red kites flying over forests in Wales, and over an old nuclear power station, and thinking about the changing landscape, and what we as humans do to it. I wanted the song to feel positive, because only a few years ago red kites were nearly extinct in the UK, and their restoration has been really successful here. Musically I wanted it to lift and soar, but also keep a sense of fragility. Andrew, Brighton, UK
